Botanical name: Hygrophila heinei    Family: Acanthaceae (Acanthus family)
Synonyms: Hygrophila helodes, Hygrophila pseudopolysperma, Ruellia uliginosa

Little Blue Swampweed is a herb found in shallow water, in swamps and rice fields and also reported from sugarcane fields. Leaves are ovate-oblong blunt. Flowers are borne in spikes covered with overlapping bracts. Flowers are blue, two lipped. Lower lip is minutely toothed, upper one is entire, rounded. Little Blue Swampweed is native to India, Bangladesh and Srlanka. Flowering: March-May.
